Book Cover Author: Eleanor Coerr

Genre:Non-Fiction

A girl who has leukemia, if she can make one thousand paper crane, she will feel better or she can back to her family. But she made Six hundred and forty four.

My favorite character is Sadako. Because, she made six hundred and forty four paper crane. That is almost one thousand paper crane.Sadako is the courage that made one young woman a heroine in Japan. The author first heard Sadako’s story when she lived in Japan. Then she thought this book will  good for American children.

I give this book 5 terrific stars.I recommended to others because a brave girl made almost thousand paper crane who’s life the race against time. If a reader read this book, the person will learn some interesting things.

I’ve read this book and I thought it was good but it’s actually really sad. There’s another book by the same author ( I think) who has an injured hand from incidents in Japan( like Sadako) . I am trying to find it.

This is such a powerful story. Last year, fourth grade made paper cranes after the Origami Swami visited as part of the Mosaic project. Some of the cranes are hanging up in the library as tribute to Sadako.
